Afterglow

About artwork

“Afterglow” reimagines a natural landscape through simplified forms, exaggerated scale and luminous digital colour. Layered mountain silhouettes surround a still body of water, while an oversized setting sun dominates the horizon and transforms the scene with intense shades of coral, violet and deep blue. Rather than depicting a specific place, Bennett constructs an imagined landscape from familiar visual elements. Smooth gradients and carefully controlled reflections give the composition a calm, almost meditative quality while maintaining the distinctly artificial character of a digitally created environment. Digital artwork, 4000 × 4000 px.
